About VTX Communications
VTX Communications (VTXC) was founded in 1992 as the deregulated affiliate of Valley Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (VTCI). Initially, VTXC began selling transport with optical interconnects in Harlingen and Laredo. From these beginnings, a network was built that enables VTXC to provide an array of services.
Currently VTXC has established Points of Presence (POP’s) in McAllen, San Antonio, Corpus Christi, Laredo, Harlingen, and Hidalgo. VTXC also has established interconnections with over thirty telecommunication companies, including several international providers at the international boundary in Laredo, Texas.
VTXC’s SONET System supports a full range of wholesale and retail services. These services include:
- Dedicated transport
- Domestic and international voice termination and data connectivity
- Internet provider services
VTXC supports its community with time and resources. We are committed to being a leader in citizenship by partnering with community organizations to make a positive impact. The primary mission of our community relations program is to leverage our resources and diverse talent to enhance educational opportunities, support health and human services and respect the environment in communities where we live and work.
Around the Rio Grande Valley, VTXC’s community involvement efforts are accomplished through sponsorship of events, participation on boards, education outreach and partnership, and employee volunteerism.
